Founded in 1952, Norwood School is a coeducational, independent day school with approximately 450 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The School sits on 40 beautiful and expansive acres in Bethesda, Maryland, less than six miles from Washington, D.C. Norwood seeks an Admission Coordinator to handle office coordination, event planning and implementation, communicating to outside constituents, and supporting the admission office in all aspects of recruitment and admission for Norwood School. They must exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational, collaborative, technical, written, and oral communication skills and should also possess the following qualities and attributes: positivity, integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Essential job functions include:
- Communicating Norwood's mission and vision to prospective parents, prospective students, educational consultants, and feeder school representatives
- Supporting annual admission goals, in accordance with the School's mission to increase representation of socio-economically, racially, culturally, and socially underrepresented populations in the student body, based on enrollment goals
- Managing administrative responsibilities and general office operations
- Managing and updating the online application and enrollment database modules, and processing online applications and annual information updates
- Managing schedule and communications for parent interviews and tours, and student visits and assessments
- Interviewing and touring prospective families
- Supporting admission events such as open houses, fairs, and welcome receptions
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Fulfilling duties as assigned by the Director of Admission and Enrollment Management
The Admission Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month, staff, benefits-eligible position. An appreciation for Norwood School's commitment to academic and personal excellence, values, and diversity is essential. An undergraduate degree is required. Previous admission, Ravenna and HubSpot database experience is preferred.
