This year our Diversity Leadership Council will be focused on building out a Strategic Plan for Diversity to help guide our work for next 3 years. Our goal in building a strategic plan is to build a blueprint for how to organize and prioritize goals and strategies that will most effectively advance our vision for equity, diversity and community at Norwood from an institutional perspective. We hope to build on the ongoing work we’ve been engaged in for the past several years and find new ways to gather input, feedback and ideas from the wider community to ensure we’re responsive to the needs and areas of potential growth identified by community members.
To guide our work moving forward we have identified the following institutional areas of focus from which to frame our goals:
1. Increasing Diversity 2. Curriculum and Instruction 3. Diversity Programming 4. Professional Development 5. Communications 6. Policies, Structures and Traditions 7. School Culture
We hope to have a draft plan ready to share with the wider community by the end of the 2019-20 school year.
